Classic Potato Gratin

| 1 kg | Waxy potatoes |
| 2 – 3 pcs | Garlic cloves, thinly sliced |
| 300 ml | Heavy cream |
| to taste | Salt, black pepper, nutmeg |
| optional 100 g | Grated cheese |
Preparation

Prep Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Peel the potatoes and slice them thinly.

Layer Arrange potatoes in layers in a baking dish; season each layer with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Scatter garlic between layers.

Bake Pour in cream (stop just below the top layer). Bake 45 minutes at 180 °C; add cheese on top 15 minutes before the end.

Rest Cover and rest 10 – 15 minutes.
