Classic Potato Gratin

Ingredients

1 kgWaxy potatoes
2 ‍–‍ 3 pcsGarlic cloves, thinly sliced
300 mlHeavy cream
to tasteSalt, black pepper, nutmeg
optional 100 gGrated cheese

Preparation

  1. Prep Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Peel the potatoes and slice them thinly.

  2. Layer Arrange potatoes in layers in a baking dish; season each layer with salt, pepper, and nutmeg. Scatter garlic between layers.

  3. Bake Pour in cream (stop just below the top layer). Bake 45 minutes at 180 °C; add cheese on top 15 minutes before the end.

  4. Rest Cover and rest 10 ‍–‍ 15 minutes.
